Who We Are

Philothea Missionary Society is a spiritual family in the Church consisting of priests, religious sisters, lay missionaries (consecrated and non-consecrated), Jesus Youth, Friends of Philothea and other Associates. We are here for the Christian formation and transformation of the laity. Philothea means “Lover of God,” and is the title that St Francis de Sales used to refer to all Christian faithful.
Following the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales, we are Catholic women and men serving the church in the following ministries:

  • Family Ministry (married life and single families)
  • Youth Ministry (in the Parishes, Colleges and Universities)
  • Ministry to the Sick and Medical Personnel (in the hospitals and at home)
